Meet the Officers.

These are the officers of Engineering World Health. They are responsible for running meetings, managing funding, leading projects, coordinating events, and pretty much anything else you can think of. If you have questions about EWH or how to get involved, feel free to ask any of us. We're pretty friendly people. We are always looking for new people to join our leadership, contact us if you are interested!

Trefor Szabo
4th Year Electrical Engineer
President
Sonja Daebelliehn
2nd Year Biomedical Engineer Secretary

My name is Trefor Szabo, I'm an EE from Berkeley, CA. I enjoy playing music, cooking, baking, and sleeping. I believe in using my knowledge as an engineer to make a positive impact on the world, something that fits right in with EWH's mission.

Austin Hanson
3rd Year Biomedical Engineer
Treasurer

My name is Austin Hanson and I am currently the treasurer for EWH. I joined the group because someone forced me to tag along, but fell in love with EWH’s overarching goals and the overall vibe the various members gave off. In terms of education I am a third year biomedical engineering major. In my free time I can be found in the gym playing basketball or surfing at Morro Bay.

Hey! My name is Sonja and I am a second year biomedical engineering student. I'm originally from Port Angeles, Washington but have spent most of my life in Folsom, California. I enjoy skateboarding, hiking, watercolors, and writing, and am always down to try something new out on the piano or guitar. EWH is fantastic because it gives you practical background in design and even development while giving you the opportunity to actually make a lasting difference in a country half a world away.

Samantha Schock
4th Year Biomedical Engineer
Project Director

My name is Samantha Schock. I am from Washington State and I'm a 4th year Biomedical Engineering student. In my spare time, I like to read books and watch Marvel movies, especially The Avengers. I'm very excited to be a part of such a cool organization like EWH knowing I can really make a difference.

Cori Espelien
4th Year Biomedical Engineer
Interim Meetings Director

My name is Cori Espelien and I am a third year biomedical engineering student from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I enjoy cooking and baking, hiking, reading, practicing aerial silks, and playing soccer. I love EWH because I am surrounded by like-minded people, people who are committed to improving global health through education, projects, and service.
